Serious Defense Tech, Not-So-Serious Delivery
The audience
Defense & Donuts publishes sharp, opinionated writing on casual defense tech commentary, national security, emerging military technology. Readers show up because the posts earn their attention — we don't chase traffic, we chase ideas worth the scroll.
- Established 2024 — 2 years of continuous publishing
- 5 published posts in the archive
- Edited by K. Brennan — National security nerd who believes defense tech is too important to be boring.
- Editorially independent — sponsors never see or influence posts before publication
Placement options
Three native surfaces are available:
- Footer sponsor row — A slim "Sponsored by" row inside the footer on every page of the site.
- In-feed card — A native card placed between blog post cards on the home page and the blog index.
- Mid-article card — A tasteful sponsor card injected inside long-form articles, after every sixth paragraph, up to twice per post.
Every placement carries a visible Sponsored label, renders in an <aside> with aria-label="Sponsored content", and links out with rel="sponsored noopener nofollow". We ship CLS-safe sizes, deterministic per-day
rotation, optional tag-based targeting (match your placement to relevant posts only), and
per-day impression pacing.
What we won't do
- Show sponsors our posts before publication
- Accept edits to editorial copy
- Run tracking pixels from unknown vendors
- Carry sponsors whose pitch isn't a genuine fit for the casual defense tech commentary, national security, emerging military technology audience
